It’s labelled a war film, but you’ll be unlikely to ever find a film more anti war. A fine cast – with a young Charlie Sheen putting in the performance of his career – takes us through the horrors of the Vietnam War, as seen through the ever-widening eyes of a platoon of draftees. The movie that made director Oliver Stone’s name is a gut-wrenching ride, for the soldiers and viewers.
