Spikes end cop chase
A STOLEN vehicle has led police on a high speed chase near Yuleba on Wednesday afternoon, with spike strips deployed in an effort to stop the offenders.
The incident occurred at around 3pm Wednesday, when police were patrolling the Warrego Highway at Yuleba on the lookout for the stolen vehicle.
Police identified the vehicle, and activated lights and sirens.
The patrol continued its pursuit of the offenders, as they reached high speeds along the Warrego Highway, heading east.
The unit was given authorisation to deploy spike strips, which successfully ended the chase – causing the stolen vehicle to drive into bushland before eventually crashing into a tree.
The two men taken into custody were charged with a number of offences.
