The Western Star - - BEST OF THE WEST -

PERFORMING for thousands of avid music fans, Paul Kelly, Cold Chisel’s Ian Moss and the Preatures warmed a chilly Dirranbandi night for a special charity event on Saturday June 2.

Playing all his popular hits such as To Her Door, Dumb

Things and Before too Long,

Kelly the Australian rock music icon delighted rusted-on fans while no doubt welcoming a new generation of young followers.

Aiming to raise funds for the Dirranbandi P-10 Agricultural Studies Program, the event was run by the Dirranbandi Pastoral and Agricultural Association which is trying to sustain the program by offering incentives to students committed to staying on the land.

A key figure behind the event, Frank Deshon, addressed the crowd on-stage and said the region had been doing it tough with many setbacks hitting rural areas in quick succession.
