RUGBY LEAGUE: The Wallumbilla/Surat Red Bulls side has continued its winning streak after confidently beating St George Saints 72–16 at Surat at the weekend.

The Red Bulls started the first half in strong form, keeping the Saints at bay with only eight points to the Bulls’ 34 at the half time buzzer.

Red Bulls player Jack Collins proved hard to hold on the field and scored an impressive five tries in the match.

Brodie Lucht, Geordie Ladbrook, Bennett Ladbrook, Reece Irwin, John Russo and Ricky Wright all scored one try each.

Jack Rowbotham followed through with nine of the ten conversions, with Irwin kicking the other.

In Saturday’s match youngster Ben York make his debut into the Red Bulls’ A-grade side.

York found his feet in the last 20 minutes of the second half and scored two consecutive tries against the Saints.

However, the Saints continued to fight on during the second half, bringing their score to 16 at full time.

Lockie Pollock, Adam Parkes, Lindon Langton and Joron Parkes all got over the line for the Saints, but the side failed to follow through with conversions, setting them back with another loss for the season.

Red Bulls captain Locke Naprasnik and coach Ryan Wehl said their attack was strong throughout.

“We defended well throughout most of the game and our attack was also strong,” Naprasnik said.

“We had control of the game which was the most pleasing thing of the game, from the start to the finish,” Wehl said.

With a successful season so far under way for the Red Bulls, their next match against Chinchilla Bulldogs is set to be a tough one.

“So far we have had a pretty successful season, but still have a bit of work to do.

“We need to improve more on our discipline and goal line defence because every time the Saints got it down their end they scored,” Wehl said.

In reserve grade, the Red Bulls proved too good, winning

32–22.
