AF­TER scratch­ing a $1 Cac­tus Cash ticket at Su­rat Post & News, a Su­rat re­tiree has won a top prize, pock­et­ing $10,000.

The woman told a Golden Cas­ket of­fi­cial she was in com­plete shock re­al­is­ing af­ter she had all the win­ning sym­bols.

Owner of Su­rat Post & News, Rachel Par­ravicini was pretty chuffed the small com­mu­nity store had sold a win­ning ticket to a reg­u­lar cus­tomer.

“It’s so ex­cit­ing that it was a loyal cus­tomer of ours that comes in and plays $1 scratchies all the time,” she said.

A SU­RAT re­tiree is reel­ing from shock af­ter scratch­ing one of the top prizes on an In­stant Scratch-Its ticket, pock­et­ing $10,000.

The win­ner, who wishes to re­main anony­mous, pur­chased the win­ning $1 Cac­tus Cash ticket at Su­rat Post & News and said she’d al­ways loved play­ing

In­stant Scratch-Its and was shak­ing when she won.

The woman told a Golden Cas­ket of­fi­cial she scratched the ticket on Thurs­day and was in com­plete shock on re­al­is­ing she had all the win­ning sym­bols.

“I wasted no time at all. As soon as I scratched it I went straight to the post of­fice to send it off to you,” she said.

“There was no way I was hold­ing on to that valu­able ticket.”

Cel­e­brat­ing 18 years of own­ing Su­rat Post & News on Tues­day, Rachel Par­ravicini was pretty chuffed the small com­mu­nity store had sold a win­ning ticket to a reg­u­lar.

“It’s so ex­cit­ing that it was a loyal cus­tomer of ours that comes in and plays $1 scratchies all the time,” she said.

“It makes it bet­ter than if some­one off the street had just come in and bought one once and been the win­ner.”
