So­cial ser­vices com­ing to town

AC­CESS to so­cial ser­vices will be made eas­ier for res­i­dents in the Maranoa when the Golden Wat­tle mo­bile ser­vice cen­tre ar­rives in the re­gion this month.

The 20-tonne truck, fit­ted out as a mo­bile Cen­tre­link of­fice, will be loaded up with Depart­ment of Hu­man Ser­vices staff pro­vid­ing face-to-face ser­vice.

In ad­di­tion to Cen­tre­link ser­vices, the team on board will be han­dling Medi­care and child sup­port and are able to help res­i­dents nav­i­gate the DHS on­line ser­vices.

A so­cial worker will also be on board to pro­vide short-term coun­selling and re­fer­rals.

For those with ques­tions about other so­cial ser­vices, the staff can pro­vide in­for­ma­tion about the Depart­ment of Vet­er­ans’ Af­fairs and other sup­port.

■ Roma: Tues­day, July 23, 9am-4pm, 144 McDowall St.

■ In­june: Wed­nes­day,

July 24, 9.30am-4pm, Me­mo­rial Hall.

■ Su­rat: Thurs­day, July 25, 9.30am-3pm, Lions Park.
