Flown to Toowoomba af­ter car­a­van rollover

A COU­PLE were left fight­ing for their life in a Toowoomba hospital af­ter their car and car­a­van rolled on the Carnar­von High­way.

A man, aged in his 60s, and a woman in her 50s were air­lifted from the scene on the Carnar­von High­way, 30km from Su­rat, on Satur­day af­ter­noon.

LifeF­light’s Su­rat Gas Aeromed­i­cal Ser­vice he­li­copter was tasked to the scene about 3.30pm.

The rollover was re­ported about 2pm Satur­day.

Fire­fighers ar­rived on the scene to cut the pair free from the over­turned car wreck be­fore paramedics were able to treat them.

The man was ini­tially taken by road to Su­rat Hospital be­fore be­ing trans­ferred to Toowoomba Hospital.

LifeF­light told The West­ern Star both pa­tients were in crit­i­cal con­di­tions.
