Kids enjoy an epic race day
FIRST-TIME racegoer Katie Reddan had the time of her life calling the horse racing from the top of the sandpit castle.
Roma Turf Club put on an extraordinary day for the kids, with more than 300 people passing through the gates at the Fillies and Families Race Day at Bassett Park on Saturday.
There was all sorts of activities to keep the younger ones entertained, including an inflatable fun-land, craft activities, Lego, a mega sandpit and face painting.
Reddan said it was the best day ever.
“My friends and I have been playing in the sandpit all morning,” she said.
“I love the horses so much. “It has been really fun.” You know it’s a good day when Roma Turf Club announces the day after that many little people’s shoes and socks are waiting to be collected behind the bar.
