Carnar­von Cubs wrap up 2019

RUGBY LEAGUE: Hav­ing claimed the cov­eted Club Cham­pi­onship Shield for the Roma and Dis­trict Ju­nior Rugby League com­pe­ti­tion this year, a fun and re­laxed pre­sen­ta­tion night was a be­fit­ting end to a suc­cess­ful sea­son for the Carnar­von Cubs Ju­nior Rugby League Club.

On Thurs­day night the Cubs com­mu­nity gath­ered at Roma Cities Club­house to ac­knowl­edge the spon­sors, coaches, play­ers and club vol­un­teers that made the sea­son pos­si­ble.

In the un­der-14s, coach Boomer Kennedy pre­sented Connor Lacey with the best back tro­phy while Os­car Ever­ing­ham was named best for­ward and Bai­ley Knapp re­ceived the coaches’ tro­phy.

Still on a high from lead­ing the U12 Li­ons to a grand fi­nal win, coaches Sonya Lucht and Scott Col­lier named Ri­ley Lucht the best back and Beau Col­lier the best for­ward while Wes­ley Col­lier and Cur­tis Fer­nando re­ceived the coaches’ tro­phies.

The U12 Tigers were de­lighted to have the high­est point scorer in the club in their team with Brae White ac­knowl­edged for this terrific ef­fort.

Brae was also named the U12 Tigers’ best back by coaches Michael Fletcher and Scott Walsh, while Cooper Jukes was awarded best for­ward and Char­lie Berge­mann re­ceived the coaches’ tro­phy.

In the U10 Li­ons team, coach Nick Cameron named Lin­coln O’Brien best back and Jack Cameron the best for­ward and Jaiden Gor­ringe re­ceived the coaches’ tro­phy.

U10 Tigers coach Bruce Proud awarded his best back tro­phy to Blake Kingston, best for­ward to Neville Beet­son-Storch and the coaches’ tro­phy to Martin Wallace.

Play­ers in the U8 and U6 age di­vi­sions were de­lighted to each re­ceive a par­tic­i­pa­tion medal­lion for their ef­forts dur­ing the sea­son.

The Cubs thanked all the 2019 spon­sors for sup­port­ing the club.
