Carnarvon Cubs wrap up 2019
RUGBY LEAGUE: Having claimed the coveted Club Championship Shield for the Roma and District Junior Rugby League competition this year, a fun and relaxed presentation night was a befitting end to a successful season for the Carnarvon Cubs Junior Rugby League Club.
On Thursday night the Cubs community gathered at Roma Cities Clubhouse to acknowledge the sponsors, coaches, players and club volunteers that made the season possible.
In the under-14s, coach Boomer Kennedy presented Connor Lacey with the best back trophy while Oscar Everingham was named best forward and Bailey Knapp received the coaches’ trophy.
Still on a high from leading the U12 Lions to a grand final win, coaches Sonya Lucht and Scott Collier named Riley Lucht the best back and Beau Collier the best forward while Wesley Collier and Curtis Fernando received the coaches’ trophies.
The U12 Tigers were delighted to have the highest point scorer in the club in their team with Brae White acknowledged for this terrific effort.
Brae was also named the U12 Tigers’ best back by coaches Michael Fletcher and Scott Walsh, while Cooper Jukes was awarded best forward and Charlie Bergemann received the coaches’ trophy.
In the U10 Lions team, coach Nick Cameron named Lincoln O’Brien best back and Jack Cameron the best forward and Jaiden Gorringe received the coaches’ trophy.
U10 Tigers coach Bruce Proud awarded his best back trophy to Blake Kingston, best forward to Neville Beetson-Storch and the coaches’ trophy to Martin Wallace.
Players in the U8 and U6 age divisions were delighted to each receive a participation medallion for their efforts during the season.
The Cubs thanked all the 2019 sponsors for supporting the club.
