IT IS an un­likely com­bi­na­tion – a clas­sic Aussie Parma and Thai pep­per beef.

Al­though Si­mon Lee has only been in Roma for two weeks, he’s hop­ing to in­spire din­ers with his love of flavours near and far.

The new owner-chef of BC’s Restau­rant, the muti-award win­ner for nu­mer­ous food and restau­rant awards comes to Roma with a pas­sion for us­ing fresh, lo­cal ingredient­s.

“I’m from Cam­bo­dia orig­i­nally, and be­fore here I was in Banana. I’ve also had my own restau­rant in Bris­bane’s Chi­na­town and worked up north near Ather­ton,” he said.

“I have over 20 years ex­pe­ri­ence and I love to cook Asian dishes so I hope the peo­ple of Roma will like what I can cook.

“We are try­ing to use all lo­cal and fresh ingredient­s be­cause we are all sup­port­ing each other.”

Mr Lee said the new menu was a cel­e­bra­tion of the food western Queens­lan­ders loved and the food he loved to cook.

“Be­cause I run my own I like be­ing able to cook what I like,” he said.

BCs restau­rant is open six days a week for lunch and din­ner, with take­away avail­able. Call 4624 2246.
