ORATORS from across the district got their moment in the spotlight at the Roma and District Eisteddfod this week, with more than 200 individuals stepping up to the stage for choral speaking, dramatic performances and poetry readings over three days. Returning for its eleventh year, the eisteddfod, the quality of competition has delighted seasoned adjudicator Bryanne Jardine, who was judging in Roma for the first time.

“I’m very impressed with the standard of performance, it has been very high,” Ms Jardine said.

“Particularly with the schools, the teachers have done it all, and I was blown away.”
