QUILPIE will receive a visit from rugby league royalty in just over one week’s time, when the legend himself, Johnathan Thurston, comes to town.

JT is bringing his Johnathan Thurston Academy workshops to the bush from October 28-30, where the district’s students and footy players will take part in the academy’s specialist programs for education, leadership, and of course, rugby league skills.

“The JT Academy was developed to inspire, support and to set our nation’s youth up to succeed across all areas of their life: employment, education and wellbeing,” Mr Thurston said.

“It’s our absolute pleasure when we get the opportunity to extend our reach to youth living in remote and regional communities.”
