THIS week on The Western
Star Facebook page, we shared an article about eight offenders caught by police after breaking in to the local pool for a 3am dip.
Here’s what our readers had to say.
Dawn Mellon: Not the first time, won’t be the last. Let Aussies stay Aussies.
Carol McKenna: I love my VB and nothing wrong with a dip at 3am. Cops got no sense of humour anymore
Rebecca Rolfe: Don’t mean to rain on your parade but we had to section off an area due to smashed glass, we had toddlers that were meant to have lessons in that area, we had procedures to ensure the safety of all patrons and we ran behind schedule for paying parents all because they wanted to break into a pool and swim while drinking with no lights and a strong possibility of risk of an accident and possible drowning. It was not fun coming in early to get jobs done to then be cleaning up barely legal and under age drinkers that have no respect for anything or anyone. Maybe next time they can go and do it in their own pools that they apparently have.
NEWS of the Lock the Gate
Alliance also got our readers talking, after the group labelled the a land release for gas exploration as ‘madness’.
Jack Hogarth: Why is it madness? Plenty of $$ for landowners doing it tough and need coin. If they play their cards right!!
Mick Scott: All using their mobile phones and using their cars made form petroleum products, eating fast food cooked from natural gas.
Spin Hampson: What the hell are we going to do with all this incoming wealth at this point in time, really.
FINALLY, our community rejoiced in the news that two criminals, responsible for a space of more than 30 burglary offences, had been stopped in Roma.
Jo-Anne Tucker: About time, good work to our Queensland Police in Roma.
Gail Campbell: Good to
Emma Rohrlach: Glad
they’ve been caught!
Edward Haddock: Well done to the Boys in Blue, great job.
Marice Mole: Go the Roma loyals, mess with us and we will mess with you. Go Roma boys.
POOL WOES: News of eight people breaking in to the Roma pool for a dip got our readers talking this week.
