Zero tolerance at Roma Cup Day

The Western Star - - News -

NUMEROUS external police traffic crews and vehicles across Queensland are heading for Roma to patrol race day this weekend. They will be doing continuous circuits and there will be a strong traffic presence on the roads. A Roma police spokesman said police wanted to reiterate, as far as driving goes, road policing presence will be very heavy so if anyone is unsure if they have had too much alcohol to not risk it. “Come a with a plan B, there should be no reason for anyone once they get to the venue to be driving as there will be free buses running all day,” a Roma police spokesperson said.

“Roma Turf Club will be running Alco metres on both days, to help punter identify if they have had too much – a great initiative. “There will be zero tolerance for any traffic offences over this weekend, the same is said for any licensed venues and behavioural related offences on premises.”
