A ROMA court has heard the bizarre details of Brayde Kirby’s drunken one-man naked rampage across town. Kirby whipped his bare genitals with a windscreen wiper, broke potplants and spent hours evading police.

Kirby had consumed an unknown amount of alcohol before he led police on a wild goose chase.

AFTER whipping himself with a windscreen wiper, a naked Brayde Kirby then smashed potplants before running off into the night to evade police.

Appearing in Roma Magistrates Court on Tuesday, the court heard Kirby, 26, had been drinking at a barbecue on August 8, before he and his friends went to continue their night at a Roma hotel.

Kirby and his two friends arrived at BP Kookas about 12.30am, this is when he pulled his pants down and exposed his genitals to the two males, and an attendant. Kirby then proceeded to whip his genitals with a windscreen wiper he had picked up.

He then placed the same wiper between his bare buttocks, picking up a wheelie bin and launching it into the shop’s windows before fleeing the scene.

The group then went to neighbouring McDonald’s, where he smashed a potplant.

The court heard police were conducting a patrol about 1.25am when they found Kirby walking away from the scene of the night’s damage, still naked. He fled from police into a backyard. He was later located in Currey St in just his underwear, aggravated and intoxicated. When police asked him where his clothes were, he said he couldn’t explain why he didn’t have clothes, as they were with his friends.

His lawyer, C Tucker, said her client was “extremely embarrassed”. “My client drank from 7pm until about 12am, and can’t recall how many drinks he consumed, but drank a lot,” she said.

“He had impaired judgment, which doesn’t excuse his behaviour … but he regrets his behaviour.”

Magistrate Cridland said Kirby should be well embarrassed. “This is the type of behaviour that can cause a great amount of concern,” he said.

“Running amok and exposing yourself naked and in your underpants, and consuming such a large amount of alcohol.

“Look at where you’re heading. This could have a great impact on your future.”

Kirby was fined $1000, and no conviction was recorded.
