SANTA made a guest appearance at the annual Mitchell Christmas in the Park on Monday night, kick-starting a festive month for the town.
Organised and run by Mitchell Rotary Club and Booringa Action group, the event saw a good crowd gather for some Yuletide fun.
In addition to Santa, there was a ham wheel, jumping castle, a bar, barbecue, and more than 20 stalls run by various locals and charities, giving many an occasion to get a start on their Christmas shopping.
John Norrman won an early Christmas present, taking home a wheelbarrow full of groceries.
Presidents Rob Cornish and Gary Birkett said the event had been successful, and looked forward to another great event next year.
Among the guests was Mayor Tyson Golder and Councillor Geoff McMullen.
“We would like to thank all supporters and helpers, especially Roma Rotary Club, for their contributions,” they said.
“Not least children from Mitchell State School and St Patrick’s School for their very good entertainment at this successful event.
“A very merry Christmas and prosperous new year to everyone.”
