Diners all order the beef

The Western Star - - RURAL WEEKLY -

THIS week’s Darling Downs Beef Battle served as a great showcase of the best beef on the Darling Downs.

And there were 150 people fortunate enough to score a seat at the table.

Hosted by Food Leaders Australia, the event was held at the Spotted Cow in Toowoomba.

Attendees tasted beef from local beef brands JBS, John Dee, Mort and Co, Oakey Beef Exports, Rangers Valley and Stanbroke.

The beef was all sirloin and all cooked the same way.

Each table gave each plate of beef a score out of 10 based on beef flavour, flavour intensity, mouth feel, tenderness and juiciness.

Oakey Beef Exports claimed the title by a slim 2.5 points, taking home the trophy.
