Ex­ports boom­ing statewide

LO­CAL prod­ucts, in­clud­ing liq­uid nat­u­ral gas and beef, have been the driv­ing force be­hind a new eco­nomic record. State trade fig­ures for the 12 months to Novem­ber 2018 show Queens­land’s goods ex­ports at $80.5 bil­lion, a record 12-month to­tal and 12.4 per cent higher than the $71.6 bil­lion to­tal for the same pe­riod a year ear­lier.

Beef ex­ports rose $710 mil­lion to

$5.3 bil­lion in the 12 months to Novem­ber 2018.

Dry weather con­di­tions are en­cour­ag­ing gra­ziers to un­load cat­tle stock, driv­ing in­creased beef ex­port vol­umes.
