Nite Art on on Thursday July 23 sees Melbourne galleries open late, as well as artworks occupying surprising non-gallery spots all over Melbourne. You’ll find interactive, multi-disciplinary creations across three inner-city precincts. Use our map to guide your night, or stray from the path and curate your own artventure.
HAMER HALL PRECINCT 01 HAMER HALL
Begin your illuminating evening at the premiere performance of ‘Fly By Night’: a new work by Melbourne-based art collective Melinda Hetzel and Co. This site-specific work combines dance, theatre and digital technology, taking audiences on an performative tour of Hamer Hall. 100 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne 3004.
CENTRAL CITY PRECINCT 02 RUSSELL STREET SUBSTATION
Open House Melbourne invites you to descend into the depths of an electricity substation, where design research group Paper Giants takes you through the Wayfarers Project. Advised to take a particular path, you can compare your fresh experience with that of the Wayfarer object, which has recorded audio-video data of previous paths taken. 03 WEST SPACE
Renowned for its contributions to the local art scene, this institution is showing the works of local and international artists. 04 KINGS ARTIST RUN INITIATIVE

05 FLINDERS LANE GALLERY

MELBOURNE UNIVERSITY PRECINCT 06 CARLTON CONNECT INITIATIVE

07 MELBOURNE SCHOOL OF DESIGN
Liquid Architecture is inhabiting MSD’S recently constructed building, taking you on a sonic journey through its design and offering surprise encounters. University of Melbourne, Masson Rd, Parkville 3010.
08 IAN POTTER MUSEUM OF ART
Complete your night at the festival’s social hub, which will be open till midnight.
