THE COMMUNAL FIRE has always been central to the culture of the people of the Kulin Nation (the traditional owners of this land). This month, a large campfire will burn in Fed Square and for three weeks. Festivities will begin with a Welcome to Country on Saturday August 5. Then, selected evenings will feature activities and storytelling for kids, plus live music and spoken word performances.
