Otway Fly Treetop Adventures

- Nicola Dowse

SADDLE UP YOUR junior Tarzans and discover the Otway Fly, where jumping off trees (responsibly) is encouraged. Just under three hours’ drive from Melbourne (explorers of the Great Ocean Road often drop by), the Otway Fly sits in a pristine pocket of private rainforest where kids big and small can take wing through the trees and climb towers nearly 50 metres tall. Intrepid arborealists older than five and taller than 125cm will love the zipline tour. Similar to your playground flying fox, the zipline allows you to whiz between treetop platforms and past trees hundred of years old. Look around while on the platforms and learn a thing or two from your friendly zipline guides. Make it through to the final zipline and you’ll get the chance to do a bit of in-flight freestyling – time for funny faces, fun poses and the chance to fly upside down (if you dare).
