ÁTHE FIELD REVISITED
Fifty years ago the National Gallery of Victoria opened its St Kilda Road building with a contentious exhibition. The Field featured 40 emerging Australian artists working at the cutting edge of contemporary art. To celebrate its anniversary, the NGV has recreated this exhibition featuring the work of Sydney Ball, Peter Booth and Janet Dawson. THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME
Buxton Contemporary is Melbourne’s newest major gallery, designed by the architects behind Hobart’s MONA and showcasing property mogul Michael Buxton’s collection. MYURAN SUKUMARAN: ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE
This deeply affecting exhibition shows extraordinary paintings created by the convicted drug smuggler during his incarceration at Bali’s Kerobokan Prison and in the final 72 hours before his execution.
