Return of the king

Top Gear (UK) - - GARAGE - CHARLIE TURNER

Traditionally Speed Week is followed by a sizeable dose of the doldrums, the realisation that you’ve just spent a near-perfect week driving the very best performance cars of the year, that the summer is waning and the path ahead leads to darker, danker days.

Fortunately, this year I have the perfect antidote in the form of Hulk. Fresh off the glamorous Ryanair return flight from Clermont Ferrand I land back to a damp UK and lower myself into the familiar surroundings of the GT R. Wet roads haven’t really featured in our time with Hulk yet and add another layer to the drama and excitement (of which more next month). Depression banished, bring on the worst the winter can throw at us.

TESTER’S NOTES

Turns out that there’s a perfect antidote to post Speed Week blues.
