Renault’s vision of our autonomo autonomous future gets all the green velvet

The last of Renault’s EZ-branded concepts, aft after the EZ-GO taxi and EZ-PRO delivery van, is this, the EZ-ULTIMO EZ-ULTIMO. The reason it looks more like it belongs in Blade Runner than it does trundling about west London is because it’s built for 2049, 2049 not 2019.

Inspired by horse-drawn carriages of old, t the Ultimo is based on the same electric architecture as the other t two EZs but it has a fancier body and cabin, more suitable for its ro role as a luxury vehicle.

Renault thinks these things will appeal to pl plush hotels and airlines, who can furnish the interior as they see fit to give their VIP customers a proper “point to point premium experience”. ex

Access is via a sliding door and there’s seating sea for three on a two-person sofa/bench across the Ultimo’s rear rea width, and a single rearward-facing armchair. These are trimmed in a weirdly lovely green velvet. If this is our Uber Lux of the future, bring it on.
