Once upon a time, back before the internet was a twinkle and ‘viral’ only meant ‘infection’, a man climbed into a yellow car and drove it around a relatively unknown German racetrack. The man, relaxed, thumbs resting on (not hooked over) the steering wheel, was quite handy at driving, so a helicopter followed him around and the car wore some cameras, so that future generations would be able to see what went on. The car company liked the result, so they made some tapes, in a format called ‘VHS’. These were gold dust, spoken about in hushed tones by driving enthusiasts.
