Rally cars aren’t known for be­ing… con­vert­ible. To hell with tra­di­tion, then, be­cause Jaguar has turned two F-Types into gravel-stage mon­sters. Both get Jag’s 296bhp 4cyl turbo en­gine, up­graded brakes and proper com­pe­ti­tion sus­pen­sion. There are also mo­tor­sport-spec wheels thrown in, along with a lim­ited-slip diff, fire ex­tin­guisher, FIA-spec roll cage, com­pe­ti­tion seats, a proper hy­draulic hand­brake and the all-im­por­tant bon­net-mounted light­pod. The point? “A tribute to the XK 120 and all the great Jaguar sports cars since its re­veal 70 years ago,” says Jag, while a Che­quered Flag lim­ited edi­tion has been re­vealed si­mul­ta­ne­ously. So any old ex­cuse to prat about, then. TG ap­proved.
