Tread carefully

Report 3 Suzuki Swift Sport

Top Gear (UK) - - GARAGE | AWARDS 2018 - OLLIE KEW

Lots of folks with the new SSS have been reporting the tyrepressure monitoring system going haywire as winter sets in. Cold weather lowers tyre pressure. Most cars compensate, but the Swift Sport beams angry flashing lights and a warning message that Can. Not. Be. Switched. Off. Yes, I consulted the handbook (shame face), which recommended visiting a dealer to deactivate the warning, if pumping up the tyres failed to. Not sure I’d recommend it, actually.

Calling Heathrow Suzuki got me through to a rude man, telling me to “just keeping putting more air in the tyres”. Not sure you understand how pneumatics work, mate. Luckily for the both of us, the alert has gone of its own accord, and, even better, the Sport’s steering now feels more alert.
