LEGENDS ASSEMBLED

The new LEGO® Speed Champions range of hypercars and classics will have junior petrol heads learning new building skills and practising their loudest engine noises

-

Whether you’re eight or 80, there’s an undeniable satisfaction in creating something with your own hands. No matter if your junior driver needs the perfect weekend building project, or is already a big LEGO® fan, LEGO Speed Champions has just the thing, as it’s added more iconic speed machines to its range.

Boasting Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Aston Martins, as well as a giant from the world of F1 – the Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance – these exquisite models are a joy to build, and even more so to play with after. Take a look at what the youngsters, and let’s be honest, quite a few grown-ups, can look forward to.

FORD GT HERITAGE EDITION & BRONCO R

Collect, build and discover two of Ford’s most legendary machines with this LEGO Speed Champions Ford GT Heritage Edition and Bronco R building set. Whether you’re burning around a racetrack or thundering across a desert, speed is no problem with these two titans. The Bronco R even comes with two spare tyres for when you take on one boulder too many, while the GT Heritage glistens in the iconic Gulf Racing colours.

McLAREN ELVA

The fifth edition of the McLaren Ultimate Series, the Elva will send plenty of petrol heads and hearts aflutter, and the 263-piece speedster is perfect for staging your very own super-aerodynamic racing action. The model faithfully recreates the trademark wide chassis, which allows room for the two-seat open cockpit and more authentic detailing.

LOTUS EVIJA

Discover the elegant simplicity and innovative design of Britain’s first all-electric hypercar. The 247-piece model also includes a minifigure driver with a Lotus racing suit, crash helmet and wrench.

LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH

Stunning from every angle, the Lamborghini Countach will whisk your little tykes away to the glory days of the 1970s – whether they

realise it or not. As you assemble each of its 262 pieces, you get a little closer to recreating its recognisable features, including those aggressively flared wheel arches and the strident rear spoiler.

FERRARI 1970 512 M

Staying in the golden decade, this rare gem from the sadly now defunct FIA World Sportscar Championship is about as space age as Ferrari ever got. Its quirky looks quickly became the talk of the motorsport world back in 1970, and now you and your kids can recreate its striking appearance with just 291 LEGO pieces. It’s up to you to recreate the racing duels it was involved in on classic circuits like Daytona, Le Mans and Kyalami.

MERCEDES-AMG F1 W12 E PERFORMANCE & PROJECT ONE

F1 appears to have unlocked a whole new generation of fans, and given the exhilarating events of 2021, it’s hardly a surprise. Recreate one of the main protagonists of perhaps the most climactic season of modern times with the LEGO Speed Champions Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance. It comes complete with the sleek black livery, full wet tyres for any unforeseen domestic rainfall and seventime World Champion Lewis Hamilton’s trademark number 44.

Its companion, the Project One, is also inspired by F1, transferring the technology from the zenith of motorsport to the streets. And the streets likely won’t forget this 564-piece Speed Champions model, topped off by the effortlessly cool AMG mesh grille.

ASTON MARTIN VALKYRIE AMR PRO & VANTAGE GT3

Aston Martin fans of every generation have hit the mother lode with this winning combination. The AMR Pro is the track variant of the fearsome Aston Martin Valkyrie, and its aggressive looks are hard not to get excited about. On this stunning model, the scarlet of the floor, bumpers and tail fin beautifully sets off the fluorescent green body. Meanwhile on the Vantage GT3, it doesn’t take long into the build for that iconic Aston Martin look, complete with the impossibly wide rear spoiler, to start taking shape.
