TOYOTA COROLLA TOURING SPORTS 1.8
FOR Comfier than the hatch, impressive fuel economy AGAINST A complete fun sponge, unrefined CVT
The Corolla Touring Sports has good passenger space, a big boot, solid interior and a comfy ride. We even beat the claimed 57.6mpg, and the ‘Smart Connect’ touchscreen is leagues better than the old ‘Touch 2’ system. But drive and handling are bland beyond belief, and there’s nothing like a noisy CVT to discourage you from being in a hurry. The lack of poke is annoying, so opt for the 2.0-litre instead. You’ll still be bored. But at least you won’t be fashionably late.
