Rock ’n’ roll with a kick of raw feeling is the rousing recipe for Kevin Kerslake’s Joan Jett portrait. Kerslake doesn’t get under Jett’s skin, but he plots her rollercoaster ride from The Runaways to the Hall Of Fame with rigour, hinged heavily on Jett’s deepdrawl commentary. While her odd-couple bond with manager Kenny Laguna adds warmth, Jett’s empathy for female rockers roars loudest of all.
