THE FILM THAT ALWAYS MAKES ME LAUGH

Life of Brian is about as good as it gets, comedy-wise. The ending is genius. In Eric Idle’s biography, he writes about how they didn’t know how to end it so they thought, let’s just end it on a song, and of course it’s one of the great moments of British cinema. I like that idea, that he just wanted to write one of those stupid songs with that mentality of ‘we’re all going to die so let’s sing about it’, and it’s become the song most played at British funerals. It’s kind of funny.
