THE PASSENGER
Following Blow-Up and Zabriskie Point, this 1975 existential drama was the last of a trio of Englishlanguage films Italian maestro Michelangelo Antonioni made for MGM. Jack Nicholson plays Locke, a Chad-based burnt-out reporter who attempts to run away from his old life. Shifting between North Africa and Europe, it’s a richly enigmatic film, culminating in a virtuoso seven-minute tracking shot. Tom Dawson
