IT: CHAPTER TWO

The first chapter of Andy Muschietti’s monster adap of King’s doorstop novel cleared $700m in 2017. Chapter Two lands in September, this time following our protagonists as adults (but flashing back to them as kids) when they return to Derry 27 years on for a rematch with Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

DOCTOR SLEEP

From the director of Netflix’s The Haunting Of Hill House comes the sequel to The Shining.

Yep, it’s time to lose your shit. Helmer Mike Flanagan aced his previous King adap, Gerald’s Game, and Rebecca Ferguson is perfect casting as antagonist Rose the Hat. Ewan McGregor stars as the grown-up Danny Torrance.

CREEP SHOW

King and George Romero’s 1982 tribute to EC Comics is one of the finest horror anthology movies, and now effects wizard Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead) is turning it into a TV series for Shudder. Each episode will be marshalled by a different director, with Nicotero’s KNB EFX Group serving the splatter.

THE STAND

Director Josh Boone was attached to helm an adap of Revival, one of King’s best novels of the 21st Century, but he’s now greenlit to oversee a TV series of apoca-horror The Stand. The 10 episodes will air on CBS in the US, with cast TBC. King’s excited, saying: “I believe it will take viewers to a world they hope will never happen.”

THE OUTSIDER

King’s novel only hit shelves in May 2018, but is already being turned into a 10-part HBO series. Focusing on the investigation into the murder of an 11-year-old child, it will star Ben Mendelsohn, Cynthia Erivo, Bill Camp, Mare Winningham, Paddy Considine and Julianne Nicholson.
