TIGERS ARE NOT AFRAID
Not a Battlecat standalone but an ace horror drama.
Imagine a (slightly) more realistic Dredd, or La Haine retold from the cops’ perspective, and you have the measure of this Danish thriller about two police officers trapped in a riot. It’s certainly bold, combining rigorous action with a morally complex vision of institutional racism. Sadly, the result flounders under the weight of its ambitions. Despite aiming to subvert far-right rhetoric about no-go immigrant communities, the story’s contrived dramatic ironies and adrenalised battles against baying mobs undercut any good intentions.
