SOUND OF VIOLENCE 18 TBC
OUT 31 AUGUST DVD, BD, DIGITAL HD
High concept meets giallo in a horror that’s more good fun than good quality. Alexis (Jasmin Savoy Brown) is a DJ with a traumatic past who experiences the sound of human pain as ecstatic explosions of colour and pleasures. There’s plenty of spectacular gore on offer, and Brown does a fantastic job embodying and communicating the abstract ideas at the heart of writer-director Alex Noyer’s feature debut. Sadly though, Sound Of Violence doesn’t push those ideas quite far enough to join the ‘elevated horror’ ranks. Leila Latif
