Hogir Hirori’s doc follows a small group led by two unassuming men, Mahmud and Ziyad, as they try to save Yazidi girls and women from the most dangerous remaining ISIS camp in Syria, armed with only a mobile phone and a handgun. Unfolding without commentary, interviews or indeed much exposition at all, the fly-on-the wall format puts the audience at the heart of the low-tech operation, immersing us fully in the trauma inflicted on the camp’s subjects including, heartbreakingly, a bracingly innocent sevenyear-old.
