The 15-year-old English actor has played younger versions of Harry Styles (the music video for ‘Kiwi’), Felicity Jones (Rogue One), Vanessa Kirby/ Helena Bonham Carter (as Princess Margaret in The Crown), Claire Foy (The Girl In The Spider’s Web) and Niamh Algar (Censor), but is now finding herself as Lily, the eldest child in The Railway Children Return.

What did you like about Lily?

She sticks up for what she believes in. She has a voice, and she uses her voice. I think that’s a good message for people in my generation.

What was it like meeting Jenny Agutter?

Amazing. We were all excited to meet Jenny.

She was lovely. She was like a mentor to us. She helped relax everyone on set. I’d only seen her in The Railway Children. I’m not old enough to watch An American Werewolf in London!

How was it playing a young Lisbeth Salander? Was it tough getting in that headspace?

It was awesome. I had a couple of conversations with Claire Foy beforehand, so she could get me into the right mindset. Performing is like playing a game. I find it fun. Lisbeth was a really cool character.

How did you get into acting?

I did a couple of theatre groups when I was younger, but I never really did acting school or acting lessons. I kind of just watched films. I’d be like, to my mum, “That looks really fun.” My first ever audition was for The Crown. And I played a princess. I was like, “Wow, I have to do this again!” And then the second thing I ever did was Star Wars. That was amazing as well. I saw all the Stormtroopers.

So what’s next?

Treason, [a series] for Netflix. It’s a bit of an MI5 spy thing. Charlie Cox plays quite an interesting character. I’m not allowed to say any more than that. Sorry!
