What The F? More rhythms
Building on last month’s basics, learn how rhythms are written in music notation and played on the guitar
Last month we looked at some essential basics of rhythm and how a four-count is almost certainly at the heart of most of the music you listen to. However, if you want to tackle funkier and more varied rhythms you’ll need to look at some new note values. In this lesson we’ll stick to music that follows a four-count (known technically as 4/4 or ‘four-four’ time), but we’re looking at a wider selection of rhythms. This can help you read music or serve as a springboard for your own rhythm ideas.
