Sore fingers? Get started with these simple shapes and melt the pain away…

Total Guitar - - COVER FEATURE -

It’s perfectly normal to have sore fingers when you start out. Chords can be hard work, especially if you haven’t been playing guitar very long. Start with simple shapes that use one or two fingers and lots of open strings before moving onto trickier chords. It’s important that you play regularly, even if it’s only for a few minutes everyday. This will help build calluses – hard caps of skin – on your fingertips, that will soon ease any discomfort you’re feeling.
