“Seeing boutique-level richness coming to relatively affordable amps from PRS and Blackstar this year has been particularly great to see but I’m also learning to love driving everything from my pedalboard. After buying my colleague Mike’s Laney LC30 combo with the Celestion G12 Century speaker he fitted, I found myself with an amp that could go loud with minimal breakup – very loud in fact! And that suites me fine; a dependable crystal clean foundation to take advantage of my ongoing investigations in gain stacking with a Keeley D&M Drive and TC Spark boost. Specifically, how I can utilise that in my role as a vocalist / guitarist. The potentials of gain stacking are being talked about a lot more now, and it’s something we’re going to look into deeper in a future issue of TG to help you.”
