FENDER NOVENTA SERIES

Gretsch aren’t the only ones giving P-90 pickups some spotlight time – Fender have just given them a whole new series. Well, the MP-90 to be precise.

This custom wound take on the traditional best of both worlds single-coil promises “classic midrange bite, crisp highs and warm, smooth lows”.

A new Mexican-made Tele (£ 759), Strat (£ 759) and Jazzmaster (£ 899) take that blueprint and use it in very different ways with one, two and three MP-90S, respectively and options with pau ferro or maple fingerboards. Those are 9.5” radius across all models with 21 frets, 60s ‘C’-profile maple necks and alder bodies but in typical Fender, the finish options vary across the range.

The minimalist Noventa Telecaster has a half pickguard design and is offered in Vintage Blonde, Fiesta Red and 2-Colour Sunburst. The hardtail Noventa Strat comes in Daphne Blue, Surf Green, and Crimson Red Transparent, while the Jazzmaster has Surf Green, Fiesta Red or Walnut options.
