Everything you need to know before playing ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb’
Stevie was most associated with Strats – particularly his battered ‘Number One’ assembled from late-50s and early-60s parts. Though Stevie was known for using heavy strings and a high action, the most important consideration is a relatively ‘rattle-free’ action and firm confident attack. Stevie would often hook several amps together (including Fenders, Marshalls and Dumbles), adding a little extra push and tonal colour with an Ibanez Tube Screamer.
