Mark plays his signature Jackson Dominion and Willie an ESP Eclipse, both through a variety of Mesa Boogie amps. Although the tone is high gain, the low end is very tight and the mids are very present, giving the notes a precise and quick attack that punches through the mix. You’ll need to tune to drop C (CGCFAD from low to high). If you usually keep your guitar in standard tuning you’ll either need to use a set of strings that are a couple of gauges heavier than your usual set or, alternatively, practise the riff in drop D (DADGBE).
