Walrus Audio’s new Mira Optical seeks to do just that by offering a studio-grade compressor for your ’board. The main controls comprise threshold (to set the level at which compression kicks in), ratio (how much the signal is compressed by), make-up (to bring your overall level back up), mini-pot attack (how fast the compressor is introduced) and release (how long it compresses your note) output and blend controls. On the side it features a high-pass filter, which when engaged will leave your low-end signal untouched, maintaining your bass frequencies. It’s available now for £249.
