The long-awaited re­turn of Lis­beth Sa­lan­der, the aveng­ing hacker of author Stieg Lars­son’s Mil­len­nium books (and some ex­cel­lent movies), turns out be a bit of fizzer. The prob­lem isn’t the source ma­te­rial penned by David Lager­crantz, the writer who took over the Lis­beth legacy after Lars­son passed away. The real bug in the op­er­at­ing sys­tem of this av­er­age movie is the mis­guided at­tempt to rein­vent Lis­beth Sa­lan­der as a fran­chise-friendly ac­tion spear­head. Lis­beth (played by a sorely mis­cast Claire Foy) might be a lot of things, but Ja­son Bourne with a lap­top and a lot of stunts to ex­e­cute she most cer­tainly is not
