THE Wiggles have announced their preChristmas tour, with a difference.

This year, the show will be split in two: the first half of the concert will be classic Wiggles songs while the second will be a fairytale pantomime, CinderEmma.

“I don’t want to spoil too much of the surprise but I can say that it’s a new fairytale pantomime – Wigglified of course – with a really fun story and lots of singing and laughs, that both children and adults will enjoy,” Blue Wiggle Anthony said.

The name suggests that the pantomime will showcase the Yellow Wiggle whose new solo TV show, Emma! is on ABC Kids.

The group will perform a 10- date arena tour in Australia following a run of dates across the US, Canada and New Zealand.

Local children from each city will get the chance to appear as dancers on stage for the first time with the group. LONGER schooling seems to be an effective and affordable way to cut the risk of HIV infection in AIDS- endemic countries. Data collected among 7018 people in Botswana found that an extra year of secondary schooling lowered the risk of HIV infection over the following decade by eight percentage points - from about 25 to 17 per cent. The southern African country with one of the world’s highest HIV rates was an ideal setting for the study as a change in its education system in 1996 led to an average increase of about 10 months in schooling. This allowed a direct comparison of rates of infection between young adults schooled before and after the change. “We show ... that secondary schooling has a large protective effect against risk of HIV infection in Botswana,” said the study published in The Lancet Global Health. The effects were “particularly large among women”, for whom the risk was 12 percentage points lower for every additional year of education. Study co- author JanWalter de Neve hypothesised that education may expand economic opportunities and reduce women’s participation in higher- risk transactional sexual relationships. AN

ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that develops outside the womb. This usually happens in the fallopian tube and less often on the horn of the womb, cervix, on your ovary or elsewhere. Having an ectopic pregnancy is a lifethreatening condition and needs emergency treatment. It happens in about 1 in every 100 pregnancies.

The ectopic pregnancy can cause internal bleeding and death if not treated early.

Ectopic pregnancies are more likely in women who have had their tubes damaged by infections, endometriosis or abdominal surgery. It also happens more often in women who smoke or who have intrauterine devices.

If you have had an ectopic pregnancy, your chance of having another one increases to 1 in every 10 pregnancies.

The symptoms are unusual vaginal bleeding and abdominal pains on top of the usual pregnancy symptoms. You will have to contact your health provider as soon as possible to have treatment. An ectopic pregnancy can either be treated by medication or by surgery.

It is advisable to wait for I’M so booooored.”

My Miss Six and Miss Seven declared simultaneously, in an exaggerated monotone.

It was only day three of the school holidays. My eldest two children made their “I’m booooored” announcement while standing in their play room surrounded by items including a piano, a doll house with some 30 dolls, two giantsized toy boxes filled with art, craft and other play things and a book shelf filled with about 100 children’s books.

To say I was exasperated, and a little maddened, by their remark was an understatement.

“Well bored is fun, girls,” I sternly replied. “It’s through boredom that your imagination will thrive. It’s my gift to you this school holidays.” My girls looked at me suspiciously. “But what are we going to do. We can’t do nothing all holidays long.”

Sure I have a few structured activities planned for this school holiday, including a five- day holiday to Cairns and Mission Beach, but mostly I want my children to nurture an important life lesson.

There’s nothing wrong in doing nothing. There’s nothing wrong with learning the valuable skill of alleviating their own boredom.

I want them to experience how fun times can be a pleasant offshoot from having nothing to do or having no plans for the day.

I want them to learn to make their own fun, without any help from me. BABYWEIGHTS is a deck of 48 expertly devised post- natal exercise flash cards for you to perform with your baby. They’re a convenient, costeffective, playful and creative way to work out with your baby, allowing you to get back into shape. about three months after surgery before trying for another pregnancy. During this time you can recover from surgery and increase blood volume. If you had medical treatment, it is advisable to wait six months, as the drugs need to be out of your system.

The most important thing you need to do once you are pregnant again is to contact your health provider as soon as possible to check the location of this pregnancy with early blood tests and ultrasounds.
