Employers of aboriginals have been advised that unless they insure them they will be personally liable for damages as in the case of a European employee. There were 24 applications received by the Harbour Board on Thursday for the position of electrical engineer. The Board went into committee to receive the applications and it was decided to refer the matter to a subcommittee consisting of Messrs Chapman, Swales, Ward and Hon J. Hodel for consideration and report to next meeting.
