DEAL AT END OF THE LANE

- CHRISTIE ANDERSON

ONE of Kirwan’s most recognisable buildings has come on the market for the first time in 25 years.

Townsville Tenpin and Fun Centre, located on Bamford Lane in Kirwan is seeking offers to purchase until June 30.

The building which has a floor area of 3527sq m set on 0.65ha of land hasn’t been on the market since 1992.

Selling agent Ray White Commercial principal Graeme Russell said the building had undergone extensive renovations and had huge potential, offering plenty of under- roof and airconditioned space.

“It’s evolved from being a 10- pin bowling alley and function centre to having the Endeavour Foundation run a charity shop on a long- term lease with squash courts and dodgem cars,” he said.

“While there is a tenant on the lease, the bulk of the building could be put to another use and find another life.

“It’s situated in a huge catchment area with Kirwan being the biggest residential suburb in Townsville by geographical spread.”

The existing fitout includes 24 tenpin bowling lanes, eight squash courts, video games area, kiosk with commercial kitchen and dodgem cars.

The property also has a 120- space car park.
