NIRVANA FOR SKIN
A NEW skin care clinic has opened in Gulliver offering medical- grade treatment and bespoke products.
Addesso has opened its doors on Mooney St with skin therapist Judy Oats at the helm.
The clinic offers medical- grade treatments but in a welcoming day spa environment.
“I wanted it to be an holistic approach and I did see a gap ( in the market),” Ms Oats said.
“I wanted it to be clinical and results driven, but I wanted it to have that beautiful boutique feel where we really care and listen and it’s a journey so our clients are with us for life.
“I want my clients to be able to get up off the bed and see a difference in their skin. That’s really important to me.”
Treatments range from relaxing hydrating facials to targeted treatments for specific skin conditions.
Ms Oats can work with clients’ doctors and she also has a compound pharmacist on board to create bespoke skin care products. She also is the only clinic in Townsville to stock Osmosis products.
The clinic has a relaxed, elegant feel with Scandinavian styling.
Ms Oats has recruited Karin Robertson, a former model and now mother to four boys, as the face of Addesso and her photos adorn the hallway of the skin clinic.
Owner of Serenity, remedial massage therapist Susan Edge, is also leasing a room at the clinic and offers a range of services such as relaxation massages, remedial massage, body wraps and exfoliation treatments.
There are also plans for a cosmetic tattooist to join the team.
Ms Oats said the Mooney St location had been perfect but the space was an ugly duckling before being transformed.
“It looked horrific and the fitout probably took a month and a half,” Ms Oats said.
“It was like having a baby and giving birth. I was painting, sanding, putting up shelves.
“It’s been like a labour of love for me because I was very hands on with it.”
The clinic is open seven days a week. For more information call 4420 1426.
