‘ It was a bit of a goosebumps moment when I was asked’ RUNNING HOME
RACHAEL Finch “stepped back 10 notches” to enjoy the fresh air and relax in her home town as the model prepares to take part in the Queen’s Baton Relay.
Finch said it was always exciting to be back in Townsville and she was honoured to be a baton bearer for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, which start on April 4.
“It was a bit of a goosebumps moment when I was asked, because I grew up here and call this space my home,” she said.
“It will always be that, no matter what, and it’s just nice to have that connection now as a baton bearer.
“I feel very lucky and very grateful.” Finch said it was beautiful to see the baton passing through Townsville to fire up community spirit.
“That’s the whole point of the baton,” she said.
“No matter where you live, it goes through each city showing that a connection of spirit and a relationship is there.”
Coinciding with her visit is her launch of Body by Finch, a new online health, fitness and lifestyle program delivering a holistic approach to wellness and encompassing everything needed to live life to the fullest.
“It’s been inspired from my love of health and fitness,” she said.
“Launching the program and being able to share my expertise, my knowledge and my experience with the world is an absolute dream.”
Body by Finch offers signature workouts, meditation and mindfulness, recipes and meal plans, life hacks on skin, beauty, lifestyle and fashion and 24/ 7 support from a community of experts including nutritionists, psychologists and fitness experts.
Juggling a few projects as well as raising two, children, Violet and Dominic, with her husband Michael Miziner, Finch said she had a lot on her plate.
“I think the key is being passionate about what you do and loving what you do,” she said.
“I’m just trying to help as many people find a better solution in their life, more happiness and joy and to experience amazing feelings of health and wellness. “That’s my priority.” Finch will carry the baton from 5.14pm on Sunday across Strand Park.
